The Brandilary - A Mechanical Brandy Warmer

Here I have the final design for the Brandilary. The purpose of this is to heat a snifter of brandy with sterno for precisely one minute. It will warm the brandy only to 95 degrees whilst rotating the snifter to prevent localizing the heating area. All of this achieved by pure mechanical means using an Edison phonograph spring motor to provide the power/

Here you can see the cover that will be incorporated into the gear chain/ Its purpose is to starve the sterno flame of oxygen at fter a precise amount of time.

Here you can see the bottom half of the shere with the three spoked bearing support for the snifter platform

Here is the gear train being fitted to the sphere axis

The phonogragh spindle truns at 78 rpm. The correct speed for the Brandialry needs to be 1.14 RPM. Here I am cutting the gear that will communicate with the reduction gear train that needs to be designed and built

Here is the gear incorporated onto the phograph spindle

Here is the platform that holds the snifter securely as it rotates/

andiary with the completed speed reduction gear train incorporated. We are nearly ready for the fun .part of beta testing

A few things left to do now . The stopping mechanism needs to be built and all the brass will be poilished and nickle plated
